AV Williams Award Clean it or Not

I picked this University of Maryland AV Williams Award at a local flea market. It is silver plate and is tarnished. Should I clean it or leave it as found?

If I was going to keep and display it, I would, but not if I were going to sell it.

If it's silver plated, wouldn't you need to take it to a professional restorer to have it replated?

I'd leave it alone. Looks cool the way it is.

Did some research into this and was wrong about the material. It is pewter.

That doesn't look like pewter to me. Even when I've owned polished pewter, it didn't have that iridescent look to it. I still think it's either steel or plated. If it *is* pewter, that's cool, but try to minimize how often you touch it, as certain pewter mixtures contain carcinogens.
