Posting on behalf of Barry Gallace, who has been unable to log into his account here for some time. All original Randy Jones 1976 road jersey signed on collar. Very cool.

Re: The Official SAN DIEGO PADRES GU Thread

Jay, I'm wondering about this jerseys legitimacy. The Padres did not have names on back in 1976, as you can see on the pictures I have attached. Also, the year tag seems like in the wrong spot.
        Dave, any opinions?

I believe this jersey originated from the Sotheby's Barry Halper Auction.

This style road was worn 1976-1977. Wilson manufacturer (1976 Homes = Sand Knit). NNOB. The tagging should read "35 76" on a strip tag located on the front tail. Of course anomalies could and probably do exist. Interesting . . .

Attached is what I have in my files from 1977.

I've gotta agree with the skeptics on the Randy Jones road jersey...it is nt a gamer, mainly for the reasons cited.

One more camouflage for Memorial Day. . . 2010 Andrew Cashner

MLB Authenticated with its ""worth its weight in gold" little sticker as a signed jersey.

Found a couple photos of "Cash Money" wearing it though.

This is common with Padres jersey. Prior to last season a large majority of game used jerseys were never authenticated and ended up only getting authentication when they were signed. Even jerseys that were only worn one time like a throwback didn't get authenticated because there was no one in the program that requested it.

1983 Steve Garvey. First year with Padres after his defection from the Dodgers.

Do you Tony Gwynn fans recognize the model number and knob style?

And to think, the Padres retired both their numbers!!
                              Well deserved, I guess...

Tony switched from the B267 to the C263 after picking up one of Garvey's bats around '85-'86 I believe.
He would then switch back to the B267 permanently in the mid '90's.
