Found this metal mug at a thrift shop a few months back, and have been trying to make sense of it. Curious about folks' opinions.

It's a 1982 Super Bowl XVI mug, inscribed "To Dick, Compliments of the Steelers."

As the Steelers didn't play in XVI, I don't have any ideas on why this would have been produced; only thing I can come up with is that Dick Lebeau - the future Steelers defensive coordinator - was a DB coach for Cincinnati in SB XVI. As Lebeau didn't join the Steelers staff for another 10 years, seems a bit early to be courting him.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm interested in hearing them. As I've said, I'm at a total loss.
