    Bryce Harper bat

I have a Bryce Harper bat that I bought in 2010 as game used. The story behind it that was told to me was that Harper had donated the bat to the local Boy Scouts and it was auctioned off.
It is the same model as this one on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bryce-Harper...item25a930c59b

Mine also has 31 written in silver marker on the barrel end. I have messaged the seller on Ebay and ask if he knew what team Harper played for when he wore #31. He hasn't responded.
I figure it was a summer league or something similar.

I was also told that mine was used in 2009 model not 2010 like the Ebay one.

I just took the last pic to show the model number on the barrel. The other pics are from the original Ebay auction in 2010.

Does anyone have any info at all on this bat and the 31 on the end?

    Thanks

The bat is one the bottom of all the pics and of course the one with 31 on the end and B.H. on the knob.

I'm just wondering, is it common for high schoolers to have bats with their names on the barrel?

Insofar as I can tell, he wore 22/34 while with the Coyotes (College), 22 during the Area Code Games, 16 for Perfect Game, 24 for Team USA, and seemingly 32/34 for most of his pro teams.

I couldn't find any record of him wearing 31. Maybe it was from high school, but that goes back to "bat sponsorship" and high school eligibility rules.

It might be from the 2009 Aflac, as I've seen cards from that set inscribed with a 31.

Wonder if it could 31 ounces....I have seen other MPowered issued bats with very large writing for the ounces.

That is something I thought about too. It would make sense because I have not found anything of him wearing 31.
The one on Ebay says that it is his uniform number. At least PSA/DNA says that on the LOA. But I am beginning to lean toward it just being the ounces.

I don't know what his number was in high school.

One interesting/ironic fact is that he hit 31 homeruns in 2010 for the College of Southern Nevada. I wouldn't think this has anything to do with it though.

I wish the seller would message me back but I guess he doesn't want to talk.

    Re: Bryce Harper bat

After seeing that the owner of MPowered is selling Harper game model bats on eBay, I'd be leery of any that don't have pretty much absolute provenance:

Unfortunately most of the Bryce bats I see are fake. You have to watch out as he gives extra bats to the guys in the Minor Leagues. You really need to photomatch. I think there's 3 bats in existence with MLB Holo's and Bryce keeps almost everything or gives them away autographed.

The fact that there are so few with holograms makes it more difficult to feel 100% about his bats.

Any bat from 2015 is going to be worth $5,000 or more IMHO if it can be photomatched.

I bought this bat in 2010. I still have the proof of the time I bought it.
Not that it could not have been faked in 2010 but just letting you know that I do have proof of purchasing it in 2010.
