    August 2015 Pickups

Starting August off with a bang...

The 47 "Freeman" is actually Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman

As a Reds fan this one hurts, lol, but couldn't pass on it. Kyle Schwarber GU 2015 Futures Game used helmet. With event being in Cincy and since I attended all the festivities I'm trying to piece together a nice GU collection with items from each event.

This one is a centerpiece in my collection. I'm a huge Brian McCann fan and this is the 2015 game used home jersey from Father's Day. McCann hit a home run in the game and it shows incredible use.

    Re: August 2015 Pickups

Should really have been posted in the June pickups, but I'm finally getting around to it.

1925 Hillerich & Bradsby Jim Bottomley Game Used Bat (34" - 37.4 oz)

Rare block letter bat as it pre-dates Bottomley's contract with H&B by a year (contract was signed April 26, 1926). The models/bats he ordered in 1926 are both indexed at 35" in length whereas two of the models listed for him 1925 are n/s" meaning they are non-specified lengths. Weights are listed as 39 oz and 40 oz.

In 1925, he batted .367 and collected 227 hits (44 doubles and 12 triples), 21 HR, and 128 RBI. He also had a career high 3 grand slams that year.

Bat has nice use with some grain swelling on the right barrel (Bottomley batted left) as well as a few cleat marks.

Incredible bat, Tim! Great patina, besides being a super tough and rare bat..
