Manny Machado Frederick Keys "game worn" jersey on eBay

Please be aware of this jersey on eBay that the seller claims to be worn by Machado with no COA. I believe it is just a Keys #3 jersey worn by a different player from a different season. After every season, the Keys auction off their game worn jerseys, usually with a $100 minimum. Since the Keys road jerseys do not have names on the back and the design has not changed for years, a legitimate COA is essential. I think there is only one 2011 Manny road gamer and it was sold at Goldin Auctions
    and acquired by member 5toolplayer.

My back story with this jersey starts out being in the hands of the seller duddyrpm, who has been allegedly been misrepresenting some "game used" Orioles helmets with incorrectly number stickers. I actually purchased this jersey from duddyrpm for $800. When I received it, it oddly came with two different sheets of paper posing as COAs. I could tell immediately neither were the real deal. (I guess he thought two fake COAs would equal a real one.) One was a cheap black-and-white printout of the image of the COA of the real jersey on the Goldin page. The other was a cheap color printout with doctored details. I also knew a legitimate COA from the Keys would have a watermark. Obviously two fake COAs is a big indicator for fraud. I questioned him about the COAs and he immediately goes into defensive mode. He was going on about how he only buys real stuff and he's giving me a great deal and how you or I could sell it for much more. However, he refused to give me a full refund. I had to file a case and would eventually win back my full refund.

This seller then relists and sells it to the current owner gameusedrx (formerly mannymachado13/diamonddeals82) for $600, who has then put it up for sale repeatedly, with the top price ranging $3000-$8000. I let this new owner know about the history of this jersey, but I quickly figured out he knew this jersey was highly questionable and bought it to make a big profit. He said he knew the "COAs" were fake and threw them away, but still adamantly claims that this was really worn by Manny despite having no proof whatsoever. And it looks like somebody did buy and returned it recently.

I learned my lesson to always do your due diligence and buyer beware on this one! And there wasn't much evidence of heavy use when I had it. That's another lie.

Re: Manny Machado Frederick Keys "game worn" jersey on eBay

Unfortunately, DuddyRPM also has several other accounts with which he uses to bid up his items (at least 3). An eBay rep told me these bids were coming from the same IP address as the seller and that these other various accounts have been "suspended" at times by eBay. Yet these shenanigans continue in one form or another. He currently has been listing a Machado "game-worn" glove (again no COA) that has now been relisted 3 times due to non-paying bidders (ie... he won the auctions with another account and I guess failed to pay himself). I believe on one occassion it ended in the morning and was relisted that afternoon due to non-payment. My suggestion is to continue to report the items and maybe Ebay will finally do something.
