Question 1982 Gaylord Perry Mariners jerseys

Hello everyone, I am a Seattle Mariners collector and have anyways noticed that there are multiple (maybe around 10) 1982 Gaylord Perry white home Mariners jerseys. Many of these have been auctioned by notable auction houses. They are all tagged "1982 set 1", majority of them autographed and most with some sort of inscription. 1982 was the season in which he earned career win #300. Does any one have any idea why there are so many of them? Could he have simply been issued multiple jerseys throughout the 1982 season? Thanks in advanced for any help.

    Here are some examples.

Re: 1982 Gaylord Perry Mariners jerseys

Ok I may have just answered my own question. I just found this jersey (http://www.legendaryauctions.com/lot-49450.aspx) which essentially states that he wore multiple jerseys on the day he won his 300th game. I guess that might also suggest he may have worn a new jersey for every game/few games instead of the same one for the rest of the season. Hmm I would not have thought that they would have been aware enough to have him wear multiple jerseys for #300 in 1982 like Glavine in 2007.

Perhaps other members can chime in with more specific information, but my recollection was that Gaylord changed his uniform top every inning in that 300 win contest...

Perry had awareness of the hobby even in those early days of organized collecting. While I don't doubt that his Mariners jerseys were all worn by him, it is rather odd, however, that there were far more home whites worn in that season (made by Rawlings) than there were powder blue roads (supplied by Wilson).
