6200 wash code from Athletics fanfest

I had a friend do some shopping for me at the Oakland Athletics fanfest last weekend. Upon receiving my jerseys (I asked for mainly the cheap ones), I noticed my 2005 tagged size 50 green Jay Witasick had the 6200 wash code inside. All other majestic jerseys I own from Athletics have the 0062 code. There were three green Witasicks available.

I have seen before discussions that some teams do get retail jerseys and issue them to the players. I am now convinced that it does happen.

Anybody else get a 6200 coded jersey from the Athletics?

    Don,

I had the same experience with the Cubs in both 2005 and 2006.

    It happens.

Rob Sounds like a conversation we had at the National!! Rob is 100% correct that game issued/worn jerseys do have the 6200 code. I am friends with several Detroit Tigers and was in the locker room looking at jerseys and sure enough Chris Shelton 1B/DH jersey was coded with the 6200 code. It does happen and I would only purchase these jerseys if it came from someone I knew and trust. Also. you should be able to see normal playing wear on the jerseys as well. Jarrod

I have also had the same experience with several dealers and players. I bought a really nice road 2001 Ripken from Rob Steinmentz and it has the 6200 tag. The jersey shows use and is 100% perfect except for the 6200. Now, I also have a 2006 Albert Pujols jersey that is tagged with the set and year numbers plus the size tag. But, if you look inside it has the 6200 wash tag. Now, you tell me how that happens !!!! The 0062 tagging is not a slam dunk for authenticity. You can speak to any credible dealer about this.

    thanks,
