1982 Gaylord Perry Jerseys - Set 1
There are currently two separate 1982 Gaylord Perry jerseys offered on eBay. Both are signed home jerseys, Rawlings, size 46, and tagged as Set 1. How common is it to have multiple home (or road) jerseys tagged as "Set 1"?

Re: 1982 Gaylord Perry Jerseys - Set 1
To explain further: Unlike Wilson, post-1992 Russell and Majestic strip tagging, which used set numbers to designate actual jersey sets, Rawlings FLAG tags use the set number to indicate when the jersey was ordered. Set 1 flag tags are from the original order, and set 2 flag tags are jerseys ordered later in the year. There are some jerseys from the Rawlings MLB contract years (1987-91) where the flag tag and a set number on a strip tag are different...confusing but legitimate. The strip tag number corresponds to the sets in the way the other manufacturers used them. Also, there are a few set 3 jerseys in circulation from 2000-2002 of three Rangers stars: Alex Rodriguez, Pudge Rodriguez, and Rafael Palmiero. These were personally ordered by the players themselves, and there are differing opinions among collectors and dealers how many of them (if any) were actually worn in games. I hope that helps.

Yup he wore a new jersey almost every start on his quest for 300 and the rest of the 1982 season. He gave some away as gifts. That is why they are more common.
