    1st Photomatch/Question - Freddie Freeman Jersey

After several email attempts, I finally got in touch with the Braves Authentic shop to buy some Freddie Freeman items. Which apparently is very difficult; until you say your interested in spending several hundred dollars (at which they respond much quicker). When it was all said and done I ended up buying:
    (1) 2016 Freddie Freeman Game Used Away Jersey
    (1) 2017 Freddie Freeman Game Used Ball w/ logo (single, RBI)

    And

    (1) 2014 Freddie Freeman Team Issued Home Jersey that Braves Authentic personal guaranteed was Game Used but was unable to be witnessed by an authenticator.
I figured it would be a fun project to see if I could match the 2014 Game Issued jersey with any photos. It ended up turning into an awesome experience with an odd finding. I started by using uniformlineup.com (super helpful) due to there being a decent amount of patches on the jersey. I thought the site would help find a specific date of use, which it made it super easy to do. My first photo match was on September 15, 2014 with several markings, stitching, and wave patterns exactly matching to the jersey. I was super excited to see that the jersey was actually used that I wanted to keep searching. My next hit was on August 15, 2014 with the same results and several other matching dates within that time period.

But here is the kicker: as I was inspecting the jersey I noticed the team issuing number to be 46T '14 S2. I thought to myself that Set 2 seemed awfully late in the season to still be using the same jersey, that I researched more. What I found was that during the season, Pete Van Wieren (long time Braves broadcaster) died in August allowing the Braves to honor him with the "PETE" patch that the Braves would wear the remainder of the season. So long story short, the Braves must of pulled the jerseys from earlier in the season to put on the sudden patch work to honor Van Wieren. Sure enough, I was able to match the jersey to several games Freddie played in May as well.

Dates Ive Confirmed so far (only 2 hours of research): 09/17,15 08/12,15
    05/09,19,27

So my question is...is it common for clubs to use earlier set numbered jerseys for occasions such as this? and what do you guys think? Any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

I think the more definitive match are the bumps in the red fabric midway on the handle of the tomahawk, just to the left of the yellow laces. Nice jersey.

The Braves have had several memorial patches over the last few years and for some unknown reason they pull all jerseys and have the patches sewn on them. Even jerseys that were worn earlier in the year and have already been MLB Authenticated even before the date the patches were worn. Maybe they do it to help sell the jerseys. Can't think of any reason to do this other than to increase sales.

It's not the only time an MLB team has done something like this or similar in nature. After the White Sox won it all in 2005, the 2006 edition of Soxfest saw almost every GU jersey in the garage sale dated 2005 with a 2005 World Series patch added. Far more jerseys were patched than could have possibly been worn in the 4-game sweep, and because it was a sweep, two of their 4 main styles that season. the black alternate and the home alternate faux vest...never were worn in the '05 Series.
