Happy holidays everyone!
I am excited about this recent purchase and wanted to share the photos. I acquired a pair of Larry Bird game shoes that I was able to photomatch- through the experts at photoresolution- to games 4 and 6 of the 1987 NBA Finals. If you recall, these were the Magic Johnson junior-junior sky hook game and the Lakers championship clinching game.
The single pair pictured is the 1987 pair and I included 2 pics of Larry from the photomatched games. I also included my Bird 1986 NBA Finals shoes for comparison. This shows the shoes Bird wore when he destroyed the Rockets in game 6 of the 86 Finals next to the ones the he lost to Magic and Showtime in 87.
Of note, the shoes reflect Bird's heel and achilles injuries. The 86 ones are chunkier in the ankle padding without any heel modifications, where as the 87 shoes have less padding around the ankles and custom heel pads for a softer fit.
Cheers!
