In today's slugfest at Wrigley Field won by the Cubs 11-8 over the pirates, the teams combined to tie an MLB record by belting 3 grand slam HRs in the same game.

Pittsburgh's Bryan Reynolds was first to connect, smacking one in the top of the 3rd inning, only to be matched in the bottom half by Matt Duffy of the Cubs. Frank Schwindel then went yard with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th, giving the Cubs the lead back, which ended up being the final score.

Shohei Ohtani smacked his 45th HR of the season Monday night in a 10-5 loss to the Astros. While the homer itself was a positive accomplishment, it also put Ohtani in the record books with a rather dubious notation.

It marked the 13th time this year that Ohtani homered in a game in which his team lost by 4 runs or more. That ties him with Sammy Sosa for an all-time MLB record (Sosa did so with the 1999 Cubs).
