    Is there a way to....

    Picked up a few late 1930s score cards. One of them is partially scored. it is noted that Dimaggio hit a home run. Is there a good site or books that can help me find info to verify? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Here is one with box scores from the late 50s on. It has tons of links and you can search by player for earlier stats, but I didn't have time to dig in on Joe. Give it a shot.

    Have you tried www.retrosheet.org? They will have the boxscores from those games. Good Luck!

    Thanks ! That is a new link for me. Still coming up with nothing. If anyone can help the date is August 21, 1938

    Here is the headline from the NYTimes the following day. You can order a copy of the article from the NYT archives website for 4.95. It's not exactly the box scores that you were looking for, but interesting nonetheless.
