Question Pete Rose R195 model 1977-79

Can some one please help me. I have a Pete Rose R195 model 1977-79 labeling period bat. It's about 35' and weighs 32 ounces. It has 14 on the knob in black marker. What do Rose's bat charts say? Did he order this type of bat? Thanks. Ron

Re: Pete Rose R195 model 1977-79

During the 1977 - 1979 Louisville Slugger labeling period, Pete Rose had twenty five ( 25 ) shipments of R195 models. Most orders were 35" in length ( 20 shipments ). There were also two 34.5" shipments, two 34" shipments and one 33" shipment. Weights on all shipments ranged from 33 ounces to 35 ounces. It sounds as if your bat at 35" and 32 ounces would be a very close match to the August 1, 1978 order of 35" and 33 ounces. A one ounce weight differential would be an acceptable tolerance to most in the hobby. If you'd like to send me pics of the bat so I can see the use attributes, including the knob with the #14, I would be more than happy to look at it for you.

Let me know how else I can help - Thanks, Jim
