I thought MLB game worn hats were made by New Era at the time. I have never seen a Sports Specialties game worn hat. However someone with knowledge on Mets equipment would be better suited to answer that question.

Mets wore Sports Specialties until the early-mid 90s. In the 80s and earlier there was quite a mix of cap suppliers. I believe the Marlins wore Sports Specialties caps their first season.
