Does anyone have the LS shipping records for Andruw Jones? Any record of Andruw using J122 black finish?

The documented records in our possession for Andruw Jones are limited to his earliest orders ---9/3/96 to 8/11/97 ... his rookie era. His Sept, 1996 orders with the Braves were for 34 inch and 34.5 inch model I13 bats, between 31.5 and 32.5 ounces, with a Natural or No Finish. In October, 1996 34.5 inch medel O69 bats with a Black Finish were shipped to him via BB Promotions (with specified weight, thus presumed to be for game use.)

Between 2/4/97 and 8/11/97 Jones' bats were uniformly 34.5 inches and 31 or 31.5 ounces. Models included I13 (Natural), O69 (Black), C271 (Black), H238 (Black), and R221C (Black or Gwynn Finish).

His use of J122 model Louisville Sluggers would post-date August, 1997.

Jones didn't start using the J122 until 2006.

What would he have used in August of 1996? We were in Pittsburgh for his first series there. He walked back into the clubhouse, twice, to fetch a natural bat to give to some good looking girls. I have it on video somewhere.

A review of Jones' personal order records lists his first orders of H & B bats as being dated 9-3-96 (I13 no finish ) and 9-19-96 (I13 Natural Finish.) In Oct, 1996, he ordered 9 bats (O69 w/ Black Finish.) Thus, the bats you saw as described were likely either Natural I13 bats or Natural Finish bats from another manufacturer.

Generally they are shown, however in Jones' records the first documented is the one noted above. It may also be that the records of minor league orders were not obtained or on a separate page when the records were obtained.
