Re: Broadway Ricks's Mays shirt
According to this primer, the Wilson tagging is from the 1974 - 77 era.
The shirt is stated to be from 1973.

Re: Broadway Ricks's Mays shirt
I have owned quite a few Phillies jerseys from both 1973 and 1974. I have never seen this tag on a 1973 jersey. As noted in a previous post, the tag is post 1973.
Ed Dolan is currently offering 4 Phillies jerseys for sale that clearly indicate how the tagging should be on both a 1973 and 1974 Wilson jersey.

I too have never owned a 1973 jersey with the more modern 1974 style tagging.
There are always exceptions to the rule, however, in this case the Mets jersey in question is by no means a common player or inexpensive.

Re: Broadway Ricks's Mays shirt
This one is tough one. The tagging issues brought up in the previous posts are definitely valid. HOWEVER, there is a picture of Mays in 1973 where the lettering looks to be consistent with the jersey up for auction (Getty #50986112). If you look at the E to the left of the W it is a bit higher (like in the auction photo). Is this enough to authenticate it? Who knows, plus with the tagging issue, it casts a shadow of doubt. However, crazier things have been known to happen!
Any other thoughts?
