Be advised.

In the current Coach's Corner auction, Lot 639 is an absolutely complete forgery, and this statement has nothing to do with the actual autographs.

This 1928 Series G - 2.00 bill was not manufactured until 1949 at the earliest.

If you will notice, the Treasurer is Georgia Neese Clark. Treasurer Clark's first term started in 1949, after Ruth and Gehrig had both died. These are the actual terms of office: Jun. 21, 1949 - Jan. 20, 1953 / Jan. 20, 1953 - Jan. 27, 1953

In addition, Secretary of Treasury John W. Snyder's term of office was Jun. 25, 1946 - Jan. 20, 1953, which was after Gehrig had died.

Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation if you were planning on bidding on this lot.

COACH'S CORNER AUCTION:

Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Yankees hand signed 2-dollar bill.

Lot Number : 639
Current Bid : $410
History : 14 bids

Description

This odd item is a real 1928 2-dollar bill and shows not only normal handling, but abnormal signatures in pencil from both Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. It is a cool conversation piece, easily valued in the thousands and shows off EZ from 12 feet away. Lou is one side, Babe, the other, and honestly, average on the scribs is a 6 I'd say. Go ahead, just try to find another one...
