    Babe Ruth Autograph Forgery

    Be advised.

In the current Coach's Corner auction, Lot 639 is an absolutely complete forgery, and this statement has nothing to do with the actual autographs.

    http://www.myccsa.com/Lot.aspx?LotID=42348

This 1928 Series G - 2.00 bill was not manufactured until 1949 at the earliest.

If you will notice, the Treasurer is Georgia Neese Clark. Treasurer Clark's first term started in 1949, after Ruth and Gehrig had both died. These are the actual terms of office: Jun. 21, 1949 - Jan. 20, 1953 / Jan. 20, 1953 - Jan. 27, 1953

In addition, Secretary of Treasury John W. Snyder's term of office was Jun. 25, 1946 - Jan. 20, 1953, which was after Gehrig had died.

Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation if you were planning on bidding on this lot.

    COACH'S CORNER AUCTION:

Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Yankees hand signed 2-dollar bill.

    Lot Number : 639
    Current Bid : $410
    History : 14 bids

    Description

This odd item is a real 1928 2-dollar bill and shows not only normal handling, but abnormal signatures in pencil from both Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. It is a cool conversation piece, easily valued in the thousands and shows off EZ from 12 feet away. Lou is one side, Babe, the other, and honestly, average on the scribs is a 6 I'd say. Go ahead, just try to find another one...

I love how SCD will have an article on cleaning up the industry and then have 10-12 pages of Coachs Corners questionable items following it.

I guess they pay the bills

the sigs almost look like some kind of stamped/facsimile signatures , and then rubbed down or doctored some how to look older ??? just my guess........

SCD's bed buddies are offering bad autographs? I'm floored. In all seriousness, when was the last time these guys didn't have an auction loaded with fakes. Spence and Keating be damned, singled-signed Christy Mathewson balls and Eddie Plank cuts are pretty common after all. Keep up the great work SCD!

This Nolan Ryan jersey would look nice next to the Ruth $2

The current bid on this garbage with the buyer's premium is 1688.50.

Coach's Corner has been sent a copy of this page alerting them to the facts.

Any bets they will remove that item?

the bill comes with no coa! Most of the auto's in the auction come with a coa from stat authentic. Did they not pass the $2 bill and just put it up anyway! Has anyone heard of stat authentic?

Well, here is further proof that Coach's Corner does not have any ethics, and only cares about the almighty dollar.

They were sent the factual information concerning this undeniable forgery on Wednesday, and instead of pulling the auction, they let it continue.

Now it appears some uninformed bidder is out over 3300.00 for this garbage.

                Blatant lowlife individuals.
