Magglio Ordonez 4-29-07 HR 224 bat from ESM on eBay...

Currently on eBay is the bat supposidly used by Magglio Ordonez for his 224th career homerun on 4-29-07. But after looking at a picture of Ordonez on 4-29-07 on getty, it appears that the bat in the picture has much more pine tar than the bat in the auction. What do you think?

Is the swing pictured the home run swing? I'm not sure of Mag's tendencies but lots of players switch bats often during games.

Those two bats certainly don't match, that's for sure!

Image #74048937 in getty's on the same day seems to show the bat in the auction

If he switches twice a week he's got me beat.

The picture that I posted is the correct picture of him hitting the homerun. Check out this video of Ordonez as he hit it. After hitting the ball, he immediately looks up towards right field, the same way as he is in the picture.

The problem with this is that in the video he is shown with a two-handed follow through. If you watch closely, he doesn't take his right hand off the bat as his hands twist around. Both hands stay in place on the handle of the bat.

    No match.

The pic isn't of the home run swing but it does appear to be from the same game, if you freeze the video 20 seconds in, it looks as though the bat has more pinetar on it than the bat for sale, but who knows it could've worn off.
