My problem with Royalsfans has been resolved amicably.

For those of you who followed the dispute between Royasfans and I, it is over.

Jessie has graciously offered to make a new bat rack for me. He also offered the money for the repair materials but in the interest of good faith, I have told him that repaying me for the repair materials is not necessary since he is making a new bat rack for me.

I would like to thank Jessie publicly for being a responsible person and handling this in the correct manner.

I'm not sure, but I'm glad we were able to deal with this in a civil manner.

Re: My problem with Royalsfans has been resolved amicably.

First, I have struggled whether to make or not make this post, but ultimately it got the best of me and I must. It's the principal of the matter.

As I sympathy with your situation and understand how frustrating these things are, I still don't understand why GUU approved this post to be made against someone you had a problem with over buying a bat rack. I guess maybe if you bought a game used bat from someone in this forum and the bat was later found not to be authentic, and they wouldn't refund your money, then I guess I can understand.

As some of you are aware, I made a post in which GUU delete some of my information. My information was proven to be factual, as I provided GUU the proof. However, it seemed to be ignored.

I was threatened by a GUU member with lawyers because I made a post on GUU asking members a question about his bat. Now, the post only asked GUU member's if they felt the bat was a BP bat or not. Did not mention or discredit the seller at all.

To me, this GUU member crossed a serious line. However, I was being censored from sharing this information/threat and providing facts with GUU members. I felt GUU members needed to be aware also, in case they dealt with this GUU member.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't see any difference.

I'm not looking to make this a big issue. Just trying to understand the difference between the two.

I think the main difference is in one case an accusation is being made that a person and/or a persons item is fraudulent and in the other case that they are a poor packager. One is a serious claim, the other not being crime. Just my opinion.

Thanks! Actually, there wasn't an accusation made against someone's item being fraudulent. I simply asked a question to GUU forum members if they felt a bat on ebay was a BP bat. It was then the ebay seller (GUU member) saw my post and sent me a threatening email with a lawyer.

I guess I just need to let this go.

                    3arod13,

Let me see if I can answer this for you. Before I posted this story, I explained the entire situation to Eric and after some thought, he ok'd the post.

The issue is that I purchased a "game used related" item from a forum member and there was a legitimate, documented problem with it. It would be the same if it was a bat, jersey, etc. Since many members here purchase bat racks for their displays, I felt that it was a post relative to our hobby and was worthy of being posted for any member who planned to do business with this forum member. Since my post, this forum member has stepped up and agreed to take care of the issue. I truly appreciate his responsible way of handling it and that's why I posted this updated information. I dont really think that you can compare my post and yours. They are different as XPFO explained.

I take no joy in flaming a fellow member and that's why I asked Eric first. In so much that it is his site, he can allow, delete, modify etc any post that he deems necessary.

Makes sense. And I agree, "In so much that it is his site, he can allow, delete, modify etc any post that he deems necessary," however, he must be consistent and fair across the board.

My situation was simply asking a question to the forum about a bat on ebay. Everyone does this. I simply asked the forum what their thoughts were. It was then the GUU member saw my question and sent me a threatening email.

Here's how I would have handled it if I were GUU. I would have contacted the GUU member who made the threat (based only on my question to the forum) and advised him that GUU members have the right to ask questions to the forum, and in no way was my question an attack against him to warrant such a threat. Especially when I provided proof (emails) of this threat. Remember, the GUU member saw my question in this forum and then emailed me with the threat.

At a minimum, I would have been satisifed with that. However, it seemed GUU didn't really want to deal with it and downplayed it.

Look, I'm a very respectfully person. I get alone with people well. I did not warrant the threatening attack by a GUU member for posting my question in the forum. I provided proof to GUU of this threat and I feel they could have handled it better. I got the feeling he was being protected and justified, than being held accountable for his actions/threat. To me, that's the bottom line.

I enjoy this forum alot. There are many heated battles at times in this forum. I did not warrant being threatened by a GUU forum member for posting my question. To me, that's the bottom line.

                          Tony,

I didn't want to post either, but I thought I would let you know that I feel your pain.

Almost a year ago, I was also censored and pleaded my case with the new individuals who had taken over the board (one of which that accused me of intentionally trying to break a specific rule). I swore then that I would only be a spectator. I have posted less than 10 times on this board since then (including this one).

I've kept the e-mails I received from the powers that be to remind me why I felt that the censorship was not equal across the board.

To be fair, I do not hold anything personally against the administrators that sent the e-mails. They are trying to make the board better and are doing what they feel they need to in order to take the board to the next level. It's unfortunate to me that I see posts every day that I would like to respond to and this is the one that I choose. And, again to be fair, it is my choice. I'm not dumb enough to think that the board won't go on without me.

So, for what it's worth, I know what you're going through.

                          Happy collecting.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, it's frustrating when you know you didn't do anything wrong, yet are left to feel that you did.

If I was the GUU member who made the threat, whether out of frustraciton or not, I would have (after the fact) apologized. From what Chris stated in his post, he talked to the GUU member and said he admitted he overrated. Since he had my email address to send the threat, he also could have used it to apologize, and this post would be a dead issue.

People are people. People have different opinions as we all can see with Barry Bonds. I just need to let this go.

                            Thanks for all comments.

Kyle, I find this truly sad that you have kept yourself from being involved in this forum, especially if you truly enjoy it.

I've heard from some throughout my naval career say, "the Navy s**ks!" When I would hear this, I would always tell Sailors, the Navy doesn't S**K, sometimes people do. However, people do make the Navy.

I enjoy this forum alot. I've learned alot. Met some pretty decent people. However, you have those who get satisifaction out of belittling others. I've seen people make comments and posts where you could easily tell they weren't that knowlegeable, yet, they had nasty comments made to them about how ignorant they are. Some think they know it all and have all the answers, yet feel that they need to bash people, instead of just sharing the knowledge and putting them in the right direction.

I'm 47 and realize times have changed. You can see it in music today with the sexual remarks and language...how common it is for people to think nothing about swearing in public and in the work place, like it's part of the everyday English language. Lack of respect towards others. I can go on and on.

I enjoy making post. I enjoy responding to post. I don't attack people about what they say. Heck, most of the time when I make a comment, which in no way is negative and just my thoughts, people comment on my remarks and somewhat attack me for what I said. Personally, I don't get it. Why people feel the need to be rude and attack others, I will never understand.

However, it won't keep me from enjoying this forum. I refuse to let anyone keep me from enjoying life.

With that said, I hope you'll reconsider and participate more often. This is a great forum, even though now and then you'll have a bad experience with someone. In today's society, that just part of life.

                              Regards, Tony
