    1992 Pirates jersey tagging

Hi. I would like to know if anyone has images of a 1992 Pirates road jersey tagging. I am currently looking at one but the Rawlings tagging does not look like some of the 1992 tagging I have seen in past posts for other teams. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i'm assuming you're talking about this jersey?

tagging on a 1992 pirates shirt should look like this:

the tagging seen on the ebay foley jersey is the sort you'd typically find sewn in the collar of retail/store model jerseys like this:

i've never seen that style of rawlings tag (as seen on the foley) sewn in the tail of a major league gamer.

incidentally, foley spent 1992 playing for the expos. he played for the pirates in 1993. by '93, i believe the pirates road gamers were being supplied by russell.

This is why I joined this site. Thank you very much. I guess I should have looked at my Pirate media guide first. Too bad, It would have looked nice with the Foley bat I have. Thanks again.

    Re: 1992 Pirates jersey tagging

I received this response from the seller today:

It was obtained in St Louis from a jersey dealer. His last name was Sullivan. I want to say his first name was Rich but he used to advertise in SCD. As far as the tagging it could have been worn in 93 I guess. It has a COA somewhere. I was un aware of of what years he played in Pittsburgh. The name might have been removed and restored but I don't see any traces of that. It does have good wear so it was worn by him in one of those years. When I purchase anything, I only work with dealers that are recommended. Like I said, this guy was known nation wide.

Seems that there are lots of guys known nation wide that are selling "game used" jerseys????

Thanks again for helping me NOT make a expensive error.
