Did the Chicago Bears wear no stripe sleeve jerseys in 1974 preseason?
I believe the Bears wore the jerseys without any stripes for the first time during the 1971 season. I also think they wore the same style for 1972. These jerseys were most likely worn in other years for preseason games. Does anyone have any insight or photo evidence of the Bears wearing the no stripe on the sleeve jerseys for 1974? Thanks for any help! Bruce

According to this photo they did wear stripes, at least in the first game. This was taken in August 1974.

The Bears didn't have stripes for one year; 1971. It would appear that for the team photo in 1972 they also more the non-stripped jerseys. The Bears are well known for recycling jerseys for practice, so there is a chance that in 1974 someone on the Bears was wearing one of these non-striped jerseys.

Thanks for the photos and insight Scott! Enjoyed watching your YouTube video too of your collection! If I thought Juenger wore it in practice I would be interested in that for the price of a practice jersey only. I don't want to pay the price for a 71 gamer and not know for sure if Dave wore the jersey.
