losing on eBay in less than 24 hrs...AVOID!
There's a very problematic Tigers Jason Thompson on eBay set to close Friday evening. I'm not fauting the seller, as he may well have gotten duped when he bought it (apparently a while ago).
In addition to questionable sizing of the reverse font, the year/set strip tag is INSIDE the tail (never done by the Tigers on Wilson knits) and evidences a poorly handstitched font:
Item number: 160775284689
Item specifics
Until about 10 years ago, Tigers game-used jerseys were among the scarcest in the hobby, and the scarcity led to the creation of Frankenjerseys like this one.

Dave, I'd have to agree- in addition to the phony set tag and the problems with the back letters and numbers, the neck trim is reversed. It should have the orange stripe next to the grey fabric- not the blue. The sleeve trim/cuffs also appear to be of a narrower variety than what was used during this period.

Sadly, I brought these points up to him and he said, basically, he doesn't care what the jersey is, he needs it to sell. I'm sorry he obviously needs money badly, but I'm disappointed at his lack of integrity.

Re: losing on eBay in less than 24 hrs...AVOID!
Another problem that may exist with this one...there was a short span (1, maybe 2 years tops) in the late 1970s when the Tigers ordered their road unis from Rawlings instead of Wilson...1977 may fall into that category. I can't readily find anything in my files, but maybe Larry P, Larry B, Dale or another Tigers specialist can confirm/refute?

Good eye Lon! I didn't even notice the reversed colors on the neckline. Did the Tigers ever wear gamers with that sequence?
