"7.Franco" Game Worn Catcher's Mitt

Hey all,

I purchased this a couple years ago for a price I couldn't pass up on, and was told by the dealer it was Jeff Francoeur's glove - however with it being a catcher's glove I'm not so sure.

Anyone have any insight?

I can't validate authenticity, however, it looks like a first base mitt to me...

That is a first base mans glove.

Jeff Francoeur also was more notable for going by the nickname Frenchy.

And I agree with the other comments, the glove appears to be a first baseman's mitt to me as well.

I'm bettin on Julio Franco.....not sure on the 7 though.

I checked the rosters of the three non-pitching Francos in MLB history on Baseball Almanac. Neither Julio nor Matt ever wore #7 in The Show...but young player Maikel Franco of the Phillies did. He played 5 games at 1B in 2014 and 2 in 2015, wearing #7 both seasons.

That definitely sounds like a possibility but I got it in 2014. I've had it for a while so I wonder if he wore #7 previously?

anf Frenchy was on the team in 2015 with Franco so maybe that's where the confusion came in
