My Humble Fred McGriff bat collection ....
I have six Fred McGriff Devil Rays bats . A 1998 , 1999 , a pair of 2000's and a 2004 . Actually only 5 1/2 , a 1999 is sawed off where it splintered in half . Still nice .
I just need a 2001 style of his and I will have at least one from each season he a DEVIL RAY !
Also one of these pictures can serve as a good reference for the handwriting to look for on the knob ends ......

Re: My Humble Fred McGriff bat collection ....
David,
Crime Dog was a favorite of mine. I remember back in the late 80's or early 90's at old Municipal Stadium in Cleveland when he was with Toronto he hit a line drive homerun that never got over 15 feet high and was over the fence in about 2 seconds. That guy had bat speed! I wished he would have gotten 500 hrs. But I also think that since he hasn't been linked in that whole MLB scandal that maybe somebody will give him his due. He really was a fun player to watch! Nice collection!

mcgriff was also a big favorite of mine when he was with the jays. getting carter and alomar in return for him (and fernandez) wasn't too shabby though. i'd love to find a jays game-used jersey of his. here's my '86-89 mcgriff gamer. also shown is a card of him holding a bunch of 2-tone LVS C271's with "19" written in the similar penmanship as seen on my bat.

Hi Jason,
I know The Crime Dog is busy fighting crime in the streets of St. Petersburg , just kidding .
Fred is doing some type of coaching with the Devil Rays , I haven't spotted him yet at camp . But , if you hear of a signing or an appearance in the Tampa-St.Pete Area , I will get the bat signed for you .
Only 2 of my bats are signed .
King Jammy ,
Nice early LS of McGriff's . He was one of my favorites while he was in Atlanta . I was a Braves fan before the Devil Rays came to town....
Scott,
I think McGriff will get the nod for Cooperstown , sweet swing and steroid free !

I would have to say in the area of $100.00 to $250.00 , depending on several factors .
How many interested bidders do you have .
Characteristics of the bat itself . What season is it from .
Auction house or ebay , being sold by a dealer , private transaction , etc .....

Re: My Humble Fred McGriff bat collection ....
Oh, well the reason why I ask is because I saw one on Ebay from his Padres days for an opening bid of $125 and no one ever bid on it, so I was just wondering. I didnt think that was a bad price though.

Re: My Humble Fred McGriff bat collection ....
thats not a bad price at all ......
I have paid in the price range I listed earlier . Usually his bats go for around $120.00 and up on ebay ......
Now his 2004 bats seem to be more expensive.....
