Rose jersey on ebay.
I'm not positive but I believe I originally sold this jersey to the current seller. If it is the same jersey, there was never a set tag at all. The Rawlings tag was stiched on the front right of the jersey (not loose at all) and the stiching was blue. I had been told by several others including the owner of Cinci Sports investments that it was just a retail jersey made in the 70's at a local Cincinnati sporting goods store. Again, I'm not positive it is the same jersey but just wanted to point this out.

Sounds like a fishy story to say the least. Looks like one frankenstein of a jersey that will likely be assumed as a gamer down the road.
Part of me doubts that Lon would restore a set tag onto a jersey..

Actually I'm 100% positive this was the same jersey. Buyer had mentioned he had a similar Johnny Bench jersey. He even stated that the Bench was also a retail model... I might even have the original email.

Re: Rose jersey on ebay.
If the ROSE lettering was "restored" to the exact location of the original, then the original looked way off. That is really crappy lettering placement. Can't be legit. Compare to other examples.

You can check the used ID history on Ebay.

Alot of sellers do this to change their name and not lose the feedback they have accumulated.
Whoever the seller is, they must still check the boards.....cuz that jersey is pulled already.

Re: Rose jersey on ebay.
I looked back through some emails and yes the buyer was Greg Walker. I found some photos of the original jersey as well.
