In an unprecedented event, Virginia Commonwealth University exited March Madness without playing a game. VCU had their game against Oregon declared a "no contest" due to multiple positive COVID19 tests among the players on the team. As a result, Oregon advances, and VCU is done for the season.

A player on the Twins tested positive for COVID19 on Friday. As a result, the remaining two games in the current Twins/Angels series have been postponed.

The New York Knicks have announced that if the team wins their current playoff series, starting with Round 2, while capacities won't bee diminished, fans will need a vaccine passport (to verify being fully vaccinated) in order to be admitted.

While the ballpark won't be empty. the announcement has been made that the Little League World Series will not be admitting the general public as a COVID19 precaution. There will still be a crowd, but it'll be limited to families, friends and community members of the participating ballclubs, 250 per team.

MLB has announced that, for the 2021 playoffs, all team employees (players exempted) will need to be fully vaccinated for COVID19. This includes managers and coaches in uniform, and ALL non-uniformed personnel. Exceptions will be made for non-players only if the employee has received one dose of the vaccine before the playoffs begin and their second dose is already scheduled.
