Re: What is your White Whale?
The Lastings Milledge Chiefs jersey that I missed out on and is possible that a forum member has it. Also his game used B-Mets jersey that TNT had. Lost on it three times, so if I get a fourth, I won't let it get by.

Re: What is your White Whale?
Glad to see this thread 'resurface' (pun INTENDED)...
While not on my original list, I have obtained THREE pieces that could be White Whales or Holy Grails for various collector's and consider myself very fortunate that I was in a position to obtain each one when they became available over this past year...
#1: Jason Giambi GU - 1st Rockies Jersey (Photo matched) to his Sept 1, 2009 debut and Sept 2, 2009 at bats for the Rockies vs the Mets.
#2: Eric Young Jr GU - 1st (and still ONLY) MLB Homerun Jersey (Photo matched) to his Sept 8th, 2009 HR at bat (I retrieved his HR ball!).
#3 Mike McKenry GU - MLB Debut Jersey (Photo matched) to his Sept 8, 2010 1st MLB at bat (I have been following Mike through the Minor Leagues)... in fact, I had Mike sign my MLB Catcher's Mitt (about 60 sigs on it so far) at ST and he was the 1st person I had sign it who had not yet made it onto an MLB Roster at the time they signed it as I was certain he would make the Big Club before the end of the season.
All the best -

Re: What is your White Whale?
A game-worn 2001 World Series Matt Williams jersey. I actually had a deal worked out with the owner, once, but he backed out of it.

Re: What is your White Whale?
Now, I would have to say a Civil Rights Game authenticated baseball. I have most the others that I am aware of. (Not including All-Star and World Series because they are a fortune)
Russell Wuerffel
Always looking for Chipper Jones game used bats and authenticated hits and MLB authenticated commemorative logo basballs.

The jersey Jack Kralick wore when he threw his no-hitter in August, 1962.
