Redskins 1940s helmet

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the Redskins ever wore Rawlings VM1 helmets? Ebay item #301162287322 offers a game worn Rawlings VM1 Skins helmet from the mid to late 1940s. The COA explains that the helmet was given to a high school kid in Virginia in 1971 by a devoted Redskin fan. I can find lots of pictures of Wilson helmets from that era, but can't find a Rawlings. Would love any help or insights.

Hey Mike! I saw the helmet and love the story, but am running into the same problem as you. I have not found any evidence that Skins ever wore anything but Wilson helmets during that era. Would love to hear from any others also.
