    I know I'm 2 days late but I picked up this '97 Big Hurt gamer from a former teammate. It's pounded with a ton of stitch marks.

    Can't make them out but it's some kind of batch number. Every '97 Thomas Rawlings I've seen at auction has them, but for whatever reason it seems like they might have only used them for that year.

    Correct. I believe it was not something done by Rawlings though. I beleive it was something done either by Thomas himself or by one of his people to track the bats. To date, I don't recall ever seeing similar stampings on a bat other than Frank Thomas. All were from the mid/late 1990s.
