Mike Stanton-Reds retail jersey

Recently bought a Mike Staton Reds home game used jersey with Nuxy patch only to find out that its just a retail jersey with the proper tagging and property of the Cincy Reds tag.These jerseys sell for about $100.00.

like an idiot i didn't research it and the seller was selling it as game used.looked real good with proper tagging but there was only one problem Staton didn't play for the Reds in 2008.lol live and learn.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't that make it a Game Issued Jersey?? Not a Retial.

The Reds could of had it made up with expectations of Stanton to be there but he didn't make the cut.

Also Stanton was with the Reds in 2008 Spring Training

He was offically released April 8th 2008

Which is about 9 days after opening day

That's right suave. Stanton was designated for assignment at the end of spring training and released 9 days later. It is entirely possible that the jersey was prepared for him in case he made the team.

I would think that the jersey would have to be game issued as the retail market for Mike Stanton jerseys would be pretty much nil - well, except for his family and a few collectors.
