recently purchased a robinson i assume store model bat . it's a L.S. on the barrel reads "genuine Jackie robinson with Brookdale under his name. r17 on the knob.everything is burnt in. just thought it was a little strange with the 'brookdale' on the barrel. can anyone help me with this......thanks

That labeling would generally be consistant with a bat manufactured for college use. In this case, the only one I could find was Brookdale College in New Jersey. The college was founded in 1967, so the center labeling on the bat should reflect a manufacturing date of of 1965-1968 or later.
