Question about VSR-2 signed marino helmet

I bought this marino helmet and received it today. It is a VSR-2 which I have never heard of. My other helmets are all vsr-4. can anyone give me a little info or tell me where to find info about the vsr-2 and when it was produced?
(i have tried google, but cannot find what i am looking for). also, i tried attatching a few pictures. thanks.

any comments on the auto are appreciated, too.
