I have a 1959 H&B All-Star game bat with the name RICE on it...
the only Rice playing in the majors at that time was Del Rice, but he never made an All-Star team... could the bat have been made for him??? - he was playing for the Milwaukee Braves at the time who had several guys on the '59 all-star team...
Could they have brought Rice as a reserve or a bullpen catcher??
or...
the third base umpire was one from the NL named Johhny Rice... could the bat be his???
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks,
Bert
