Forgot. Steiner marketed pages from Joe DiMaggio's diary, which came from the Hunt/DiMaggio Estate auction. This was 'after the fact' product.

I saw a Steiner certified Jacke Robinson autograph display which struck me, as I thought they marketed only in person autographs. Guess there are exceptions. Though that's the only vintage Steiner autograph I've seen.

Before I ask, I want one thing clear....I'm in no way questioning the legitimacy of the bat. I'm sure it's 100% authentic.

My Question

I wasn't aware Steiner authenticated items not received directly from the players themselves. When did they start doing this? The Steiner letter states the bat was part of a private collection.
