After additional research, It appears this is correct, however, I'd be interested to know if this style of 7 was the norm for only 1958 or for other seasons?

Current 1958 game worn Mantle road jersey in the Mastro auction:

Although the outline of the original 7 is present, can anyone familiar with Yankees flannels of this era provide their thoughts on this style number being used in 1958? I can't remember the 7's having the "base" on the end, rather, it was a vertical 7, almost like the one currently on the shirt.

Any insight is appreciated.
