About $ 200 below market for Garvey, and actually in pretty nice GU condition. Winner either got a good deal for his collection or a chance to earn some money.

I'm guessing it's just because the bat is in deplorable condition....cracked, major grain swelling/separation, split knob, severe discoloration to the finish....just not in good shape for display.

Outside of that.....it's a beaut!

Hahaha very true but at the rate that stuff is selling for on eBay, I'd think it was a bargain!! The discoloration I thought might be bad pictures...much like faded cards that are nice and glossy when you get them. Then again, it could be the $18 shipping

I dont think the bat is half bad. Aside from the deadwood, it has his number on both ends, as well as a 6 on the sweet spot, like a yosh mark. A 77-79 model, right in the middle of his All-Star years. The crack on the handle isnt a huge deal. It can be repaired or left as is. I would just leave it.

Im sure a Garvey collector will snatch it up eventually. Or maybe its the $18 shipping.

The bat records seem to lean towards it being authentic but this bat has been relisted a couple of times and I thought Garvey bats went for more than the last listing price. Am I missing something here?
