Re: Mets flannel in Lelands auction
Either the jersey has a mistagged size, or someone else wore it. Another pitcher wore #44 for the Mets that year, but he was also too big for a size 40. It's definitely a legit Mets road flannel...but it's a mystery as to who actually wore the shirt.

Mets flannel in Lelands auction
I’m interested in anyone’s thoughts about this 1967 Mets flannel of Bill Denehy that is currently up for auction at Lelands. What is the likelihood that Denehy, who stood 6’ 3” and weighed 200 lbs. (according to a 1967 Mets program), wore a size 40 jersey? I realize that a size 40 today is not the same as a size 40 in 1967 but this seems odd to me. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
