Good point. Grey Flannel sold an issued 2008 Peterson and it was a 44. Also, GUU auction had an 07 gamer, it was also a 44.

The seller has had a history of offering items that are not "represented" correctly. He also had a 2007 Peyton Manning with a captains patch in which his description reads "I do not believe it was ever used in a game, but I am uncertain as to what exact capacity it has been used. I obtained the jersey through a reliable source where I get all my jerseys from."

Definitely unique, but I wonder why the Vikes wouldn't use an official team color (like bright yellow) for an alternate jersey. The AIDS awareness reasoning may well be the case, but, not being an expert on that subject, I'm wondering when, during the NFL season, there is a significant AIDS awareness event? I know the San Francisco Giants, in the 1990s, used to add red ribbons to their jerseys for one day, coinciding with the AIDS-related "Until There's a Cure Day", which was in early summer. I'm not necessarily dismissing Dolphins23's reasoning, I'm just curious as to what point in the season this would have been worn if it is AIDS awareness related.
