JOHNW67 can you post any pics of the Marcus Allen Raiders jersey you have, esp. the tagging? I have a DVD of most Raiders games highlights from 1992 and it shows Starter jerseys for regular season. I did not see any Wilson. BUT, I see what you are saying because I found some photos of Marcus Allen standing by Eric Dickerson and several other players wearing Wilson jerseys in 1992 preseason and Allen's has the Wilson emblem blacked out with a black marker. You can clearly see the logo on the sleeve. And Dickerson's only season with the Raiders was 1992. You tagging gives the clue to the year date.

I was at the Raiders vs. Bengals game in 1992. Marcus Allen wore a black Starter jersey as I took pictures of him when I sat behind the Raider's bench. All my snapshots show Starter emblems on both sides of his jersey and the team's too. Also I'm not certain if he still does, but he did have a lot of his personal game worn items and trophies on display at a casino sports display in Las Vegas, Nevada. One being his 1992 black starter jersey. If I remember right the feud between him and Al Davis kept his playing time limited so I wonder how many black jerseys we actually wore and how much wear was accumulated on them. A lot of bogus Allen jerseys are out there and so are his USC game worn jerseys. If you check the numerical font on the USC jersey, the front numbers should show equal length in the inside of the number 3, while auction sites have been selling game worn Trojans jerseys with the lower part of the number 3 with larger spacing than the top part. I only saw one being sold that had equal spacing inside the numbers. Guess you still have to do your homework before buying. I have been looking for years for a real game worn Raiders jersey.

I am the customer who consigned this jersey to Paragon Auctions and I am sort of confused about all of this photo matching. I tried to look up some images of this jersey myself and came up with a few Getty Images from the pre season and they are wearing Wilson from this year. Also I saw that not every one was wearing Starter during the same regular season because there is not a logo on the sleeves, but due to the length of the sleeve I believe it to be Wilson. Here are the images I am talking about from Getty 51549657, 287122, 98281714, 161607783,294355 if some one can please educate me on this as I am not sure of all of this. This happens to be a very good auction for game used football items and it seems no one is talking about all of the great items in this auction but just focused on this jersey here. I would like to hear back from the gentleman that knows Marcus to see what he had to say. Thanks

Did the auction get pulled? The link just goes to the auction catalog.

Theres a 91 game issued Allen on Ebay and it looks like he wore Wilson that year, according to some Getty images.

So it cannot be a 1991 and in 1993 he played for KC.

That's about the size of it. If....IF....it's bogus, someone spent a hell of a lot of time faking that wear and all 12 of those team repairs.
