I hear you. I have one of his shirts from 1980 which is size 42 (consistant with others I have seen). Obviously he was younger with the Sox, but you're right...40 does seem small.

It's incredible how many guys wore size 40 back then.

I have to confess, I know nothing about these jerseys. The only thing I would question is can a 6'2', 195 lb. man wear a size 40? Maybe, but I wouldn't.

I do not know much about non-brewers jerseys. Does this one look good? The tag in the collar scares me since this would not work for a Brewers jersey, but maybe the Sox shirts are different.
