2003 Luis Gonzalez Arizona Diamondbacks Game Worn Home Jersey and Pants

Gonzalez broke in as a Major League Baseball player with the Astros in 1990. His best year early in his career was 1993, when his batting average was .300, with 162 hits, including 34 doubles and 15 home runs. It was in Arizona that Gonzalez became a star. He helped the Diamondbacks into title contention immediately, hitting a career-best .336 in 1999, leading the NL in hits with 206 and helping them win the National League's western division that season before the team fell to the New York Mets in a divisional playoff series. He was selected to his first All-Star Team in 1999. In 2000, the Diamondbacks came in third place in their division. He also blasted 31 home runs and cracked 192 hits. In 2001, Gonzalez astonished many when he hit 57 home runs, his personal best for one season and almost twice as many as he hit in any other season. Gonzalez was selected to his second All-Star Team and finished second in the NL in hits with 198. Gonzalez also won the Home Run Derby that year. He was also selected to All-Star Teams in 2002 and 2003.
This home pinstripe Arizona Diamondbacks jersey and pants was worn by Luis Gonzalez during the 2003 baseball season. Jersey is tagged on the tail with a Majestic tag and a size 48 flag tag (2003 was the first year the Diamondbacks wore Majestic jerseys, and they did not use year tags). Inside the jersey is tagged with a pro-coded "0062" wash tag. The Diamondbacks team patch is sewn on the left sleeve, just above the embroidered Majestic logo. The jersey exhibits light evidence of game use. The pants are tagged in the waistband with a Majestic tag and an embroidered strip tag that reads "20 Gonzalez 33-36 32 03" (indicative of Gonzalez's jersey number, last name, size information, and the year). Also tagged behind the snap with a pro-coded "0082" wash tag. The pants show great evidence of game use, including a large team repair on the knee and a second large team repair on the backside.
