From 2001-2004 Smoot was the cornerstone to the Redskins defensive back field along with Champ Bailey. He reunited with the Skins in 2007. Smoot and Springs head up the covering defense leading the team to the playoffs. In 2007, Smoot had 50 tackles and 1 INT.
This jersey displays excellent use with heavy grass stains on the shoulders. The right shoulder is covered with burgundy paint from either the mid field or one of the end zones. There is a spot of blood on the left sleeve. The jersey is photomatched. The jersey has a custom cut tail and inside is the J.O. Sports thermo patch indicating the date and opponent. Inside the neck is the "07-42" swatch tag indicating the year and size of the jersey. Sewn on the front, back and both sleeves is the #27 done in burgundy twill with gold outline. On back above the number sewn on a codora nameplate is "SMOOT" done in burgundy tackle twill. On the left chest is the Redskins 75th anniversary embroidered patch while the right chest adorns the Sean Taylor "21" memorial patch.
