Jose Reyes Marucci Professional Model Used Bat (Steiner LOA)

In six years, Jose Reyes has become a fixture at shortstop for the New York Mets. He is perhaps best known for his speed and base-stealing ability – Reyes led the National League in both stolen bases and triples in both 2005 and 2006. He carries a .287 career batting average with 289 stolen bases, and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2006.. Reyes was also named to the 2006 and 2007 National League All Star teams.

This 33 inch, 32 ounce bat was manufactured by Marucci in 2007 and used by Jose Reyes until it was broken. This black lacquered bat is bears the label JR7 Custom Cut on the barrel and is absolutely pounded with use, with numerous ball marks, hit marks, weight ring marks, and rack marks over the surface of the bat. An application of pine tar begins approximately 4 inches from the knob, and extends approximately 8 inches toward the barrel. Reyes' uniform number, 7, has been stamped on the knob as is typical with Marucci bats. The length of the bat and the production date (1/07) are also stamped on the knob. This bat has sustained a severe break on the handle approximately 7 ½ inches from the knob. Moderately displaced wood is evident, however id on the back of the center label side, and the bat may be displayed with little evidence of the crack.

This bat is sourced from Mets-Steiner Collectibles (Letter of Authenticity included) and bears Steiner hologram #32021. View Lot Detail page
