Carlos Beltran 2008 Controlling the Game Professional Model Used Bat (Steiner LOA)

Carlos Beltrán made his major league debut in 1998, playing 14 games with the Kansas City Royals. In 1999, he won a job in spring training as the Royals starting center fielder and leadoff hitter. By mid-summer, he was displaying surprising power and moved to the #3 slot in the batting order, and he won the American League Rookie of the Year award. He is today considered by many to be in the top tier of stars in the game. He has been selected to the All Star team four times and in 2008 powered the Mets with his combination of power and speed by hitting over 25 home runs and stealing 25 bases.

This 34 inch, 32 ounce Controlling The Game bat (consistent with the manufacturer's stamping on the knob) was manufactured between 2007-08. This blonde Maple CTG Pro Model 342 bat features Beltran's name on the barrel. His uniform number 15 appears on the knob and on the barrel end in black marker. Wear is evidenced on the handle, with a heavy amount of pine tar applied to this bat extending approximately 10 inches from the knob. Evidence of heavy use includes rack marks, cleat marks, ball marks and hit marks. This bat is uncracked and represents an outstanding example of Beltran's lumber. This bat is sourced from Mets-Steiner Collectibles (Letter of Authenticity included) , and bears the Steiner hologram #32018. View Lot Detail page
