Shea Stadium Game Used Base Used in Johan Santana's 1st Win at Shea (NY Mets/MLB Auth)

Johan Santana is a two time Cy Young Award pitcher, who starts for the New York Mets. He began his career with the Minnesota Twins in 2000 until 2008. IN 2006 he won the Major League Pitching Triple Crown by leading the Majors in ERA (2.77), strikeouts (245), and tied for the most wins (19). He won 20 games for the Twins in 2007.

On May 10th, 2008, the New York Mets scored 12 runs for the second game in a row to help lefty ace Johan Santana notch his first Mets win at Shea. Before the home fans at Shea Stadium, the Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds 12-6 in the first game of a doubleheader. This base was used in innings 7-9 of the game. Santana allowed 10 hits and 3 runs in six innings. The base has the New York Mets 1964-2008 Shea Stadium stamp on the top and still has cleat and dirt marks from Shea.

A nice momento from Santana's first win at Shea.
