    J. R. Williamson 1968 Game Worn Boston Patriots AFL Jersey

This is a beautiful peace of AFL and Patriots history. Not to often do you come across a vintage Patriots jersey let alone one from the AFL period. This home red heavy durene material beauty has the Russell Southern (not visible) size "50" tag with wash instructions sewn to the bottom left. The crotch piece has been cut out but all 6 front buttons are still intact. Williamson's number "55" is sewn on the front, back and both sleeves in white (now cream color) tackle twill. On back above the number sewn on a red nameplate is "WILLIAMSON" done in white (now cream color) tackle twill.

The jersey adorns a red, white and blue ribbed cotton overlapping v-neck. The shoulders are made of double ply cotton durene blend. Separating the shoulders and the ½ length sleeves are a white, red and blue ribbed cotton shoulder striping quadrants. At the end of the sleeves are the blue, white and red ribbed cotton cuffs. The unique style of ½ length sleeves vs. the ¾ length sleeves and the blue white and red sleeve ends dates this jersey to exactly 1968. The jersey displays nice use with blood stains on the front and is 100% all original with no alterations. The jersey was consigned to the auction by Mike Specht.View Lot Detail page
