Matt Murton 2007 Game Worn Chicago Cubs Road Jersey (Team LOA)

In 2003, Murton was the first-round selection for the Boston Red Sox. Murton was acquired (in 2004) by the Cubs along with Nomar Garciaparra in a four-team deal. In 2006, Murton became the Cubs' starting left fielder. He finished the year leading the Cubs in batting average, at .297, with 13 home runs and 62 runs batted in. Although his playing time has been limited since Lou Piniella took over as manager of the team, Murton continues to be a favorite among fans.

This road gray Chicago Cubs jersey was worn by Matt Murton during the 2007 season. It is tagged on the tail with a Majestic tag and a size 50 flag tag. This jersey is also tagged in the collar with an embroidered strip tag that reads "19 50 07 S2" (indicative of Murton's jersey number, the size, year, and set number of the jersey). Also tagged on the inside with a pro-coded "0062" wash tag, this jersey exhibits moderate evidence of game use (primarily in the form of wash wear).

This jersey comes with a letter from the Chicago Cubs and was purchased at the 2008 Cubs Convention. It was consigned to the auction by Rob Steinmetz.View Lot Detail page
