Manny Ramirez 2007 SAM BAT Professional Model Game Used Bat (Steiner LOA)

Reaching the Major Leagues at the age of 21, already an accomplished hitter, many Ramirez hit .308 with 31 home runs and 107 RBIs to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 100-win season. His numbers approved annually, and during eight seasons with the Tribe, he played in two World Series. Signing with the Boston Red Sox as a free agent in December, 2000, Manny quickly established himself as a favorite of the Red Sox Nation. Year after year, he routinely appears in the top 4 or 5 players in every major offensive category. Over his fifteen year career he has posted a .313 lifetime batting average, with 490 home runs and 1604 RBIs. This 11-time All Star was a member of the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Champions, and shows no signs of slowing down with the 500 Home Run Club in his sights early in the 2008 season.

This 34-inch, 32-ounce SAM bat was manufactured in 2007 and used by Ramirez until broken on May 1, 2007 in a 5-4 Red Sox loss to the Oakland A's, in which Manny went 2 for 4 with an RBI. This black finished SAM model TY'S features Manny's characteristic tape at the knob, extending approximately 2 inches. His uniform number 24 appears on the knob in silver marker, and in the cupped barrel end in black marker. Also in the cupped end is characteristic SAM coding, reading as follows:

    34 / 32 / 4-18-07 / TY / 7472

Wear is evidenced on the handle, with a generous amount of pine tar and stick has been applied to this bat, beginning approximately 9 ½ inches from the knob, and extending approximately 11 inches toward the barrel. Use includes ball marks and hit marks at and above the barrel label and significant wear at the edge of the cupped barrel. This bat has sustained a severe crack appearing 8 ½ inches from the knob and measuring approximately 17 inches in length – the significant part of the crack measures approximately 7 ½ inches in length. The crack is moderately displaced at the apex, and is currently secured with clear tape that was applied after the bat was cracked.

This bat is sourced from Steiner Sports, and bears both the Steiner hologram #11931 and the MLB hologram #523145BB.View Lot Detail page
